How To Find Us

Forge Lane Sports Ground, Oughtibridge, S35 0GG,Orchard Street one way system, turn left before the bridge, onto Forge Lane. After 100 yds turn left and immediate right onto the bumpy track, follow this to the end. Please drive slowly as there are animals and children on thls track at times. Map on the location page.

Our outdoor base on the River Don at Oughtibridge enables us to provide

• Kayak and canoe coaching
• A site for 2 National Division 3 / 4 slaloms each year
• The "Discover", "Explorer", and "White Water Awards" in canoe and Kayak proficiency
• The Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT) in canoe and kayak proficiency

It is essential to book your session using the following link.

Payments are by BACs in full in advance and there can be no refunds, as spaces are limited. We may accept cash on the day but may have limited change. Members please contact the session coach if it shows full on webcollect. All children to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Non members may participate with the club a total of 3 times before becoming a full member.

You can bring your own kayaking equipment or borrow the clubs

Appropriate personal clothing:

• Minimum requirement - beach shoes (not flipflops, trainers or wellies), no laces please
• Waterproof trousers (no jeans)
• Thin fleece top, waterproof top.
• Ideally - wetsuit, wet boots, canoeing cag.
• A towel, also bring a hot drink and a snack and a change of clothing.
• As the temperature drops, a thermal top and leggings will make a big difference

IMPORTANT

The weather and season greatly affects water levels, changing from tranquil to challenging fast moving high water in the space of a day. And so if there has been heavy rain, contact us to confirm the session is still taking place, and whether conditions are suitable for you.

Everyone who paddles on a river (including the Don) or lake (including Rother Valley) needs to be aware of Leptospirosis (Weils Disease). Please see PDF.
